Internet:          KVPT.org

TV:                 Channel 18 KVPT                              Radio:              KMJ 580 AM
                       Channel 24 KSEE
                       Channel 26 KMPH
                       Channel 30 KFSN
                       Channel 47 KGPE

PLEASE look/listen for our district’s name, KINGS CANYON UNIFIED.(Our individual schools, Alta, Citrus, Dunlap, Lincoln etc., will not be listed.)

The following plans explain the amount of time your bus will be delayed.
Example: If your bus normally comes at 7 a.m. and it is a Plan A, your bus will arrive 1 ½ hours later or 8:30 a.m. :

Plan A:            Buses delayed 1 ½ hours ( Radio & TV will have information between 5:45 & 6:30 a.m.).

Plan B:            Buses delayed 2 ½ hours  (If fog worsens, the plan will be updated at 7:30 a.m. with radio & TV).

Plan C:            Morning buses CANCELLED. (If fog becomes denser, plan is updated with radio & TV at 8:30 a.m..  Afternoon buses will return students home and run at the regular time).

ON Channel 18 ONLY:   The district’s name will be displayed as, KINGS CANYON USD – Valley or KINGS CANYON USD – Mtn., followed by Plan A, B, or C. When the weather affected area “Valley” appears, this indicates that all buses serving our valley schools including Reedley High School mountain buses, are delayed due to fog or other severe weather conditions. When “Mtn” (mountain) appears, this indicates that all mountain buses are delayed due to snow or ice conditions.

The District Fog Line (305-7070), TV - Channel 18 KVPT and KMJ radio station are the most accurate for current, updated information.

Please DO NOT CALL the District Office or Transportation  or your school site for the above information.

Please DO watch your TV or listen to your radio or call the District Fog Line (305-7070).

Attendance when Foggy Day Schedule is Implemented:

Parents need to be familiar with foggy day plans and procedures. When a foggy day schedule is implemented school buses and schedules will be adjusted for that day according to the plan call (A, B, C). School will start on time; however, we acknowledge parent's judgement. Parents may keep their children home while a foggy day plan is in effect if they have no means to safely transport their own child. Tardiness and absence because of fog or inclement weather will be excused upon parent notification.
